Diary of Endelle Stroth - 36.08.2270
How do I feel about closing the book on a century-long Project designed by the greatest scientific team of its time, which has formed the bedrock of modern galactic advancement? Surprisingly, I’m at peace with it.
I don’t wish to appear callous; I’ve spent this whole journey coming to terms with the truth: the galaxy simply doesn’t need Project Centennial any more. When we first reestablished contact with the Centurions, every new discovery they sent us was exciting. Every first contact was unprecedented. Now if we want to know something, we can either go and find out or ask our new friends to find out for us. We no longer need increasingly erratic and dangerous probes to discover for us.
So no, I don’t feel remorse. I think our scientist ancestors would be proud of how far the Project has carried us, and how much further we now carry ourselves.
