115. A Reunion

Diary of Endelle Stroth - 49.06.2270

I had an unexpected meeting yesterday, as I was strolling the parks of Korus (“Pacing” might be more accurate - the Congregate is still discussing my tenuous proposal for how to - possibly - halt the Centurions). Namely, I was approached by one Tren Krellos - now going by El-Krellos, of course - the bounty hunter who once pursued me across the border of the Ele Dominion.

When we were initially retrieved by the Ele, Krellos swore that he would hunt me down, but surprisingly in this instance I didn’t fear for my life, nor did he make any move to attack. Instead, we just talked. He explained that he had been going through much the same shift in worldview that I had experienced among the Ele, and that he found himself lacking purpose now that he wasn’t working contract-to-contract. I told him about the situation with the Centurions, and how I was reluctantly coming to terms with having to leave the Dominion again. It was almost pleasant, now that the threat of adversity wasn’t looming over us.

I suggested that Krellos think about becoming a mechanic full-time, as he obviously put a lot of pride in the modifications he had made to his starship. He said he’d think about it - I can recognise a brush-off when I hear it, but that’s okay. He also reminded me that, outside the Dominion, I still have a price on my head, and there would be others like him stalking the cosmos like sharks. An inspiring thought indeed.
