112. Arrivals And Departure

Diary of Endelle Stroth - 42.06.2270

I know I’ve expounded at length on the wonders of the universe and the various revelatory experiences I’ve had while on my little sabbatical, but it bears re-iterating that I’ve been consistently amazed by the Ele Dominion. Not by its strangeness or mystery - although that does continue to fascinate me - but by how kind and welcoming its people have been. Whether it’s an old soldier patiently guiding a novice through acts as apparently mundane as telepathy and teleportation, or a next-door neighbour inviting a new friend to feast with them. The Ele I meet have as little context for me as a hotelier has for their guests, and yet they have embraced me fully.

And embraced others, as new members of the Metanation seem to arrive daily now. I’ve done my best, in turn, to make new residents here feel welcome. At the last Feast of Elforsht, I met a woman named Zell who told me she used to mine Cerite on Harthoe before it was destroyed. It must have been a tough beat, but she’s embraced the idea of the Metanation as a second chance wholeheartedly. I’m certain she’s not alone.

Why is all this at front of mind for me today? Because it can’t last. I’ve spent more than a week poring over everything I’ve got on the Centurions, and all signs point to needing to return to Aglostarros to have any chance of disabling them for good. There’s now a time limit on my life as El-Endelle.
