QUEN - Last week’s story of ghostly beings appearing to settlers across the galactic fringe has taken a turn for the more mundane, though no less concerning to many. Eyewitness reports indicate that these glowing apparitions are introducing themselves as 'Centurions', suggesting they may be connected to the exploration drones launched into space over 100 years ago, as part of the University of Aglostarros’ Project Centennial initiative.
We reached out to the Aglostarros University Museum, which now runs an exhibition presenting Project Centennial’s findings, for comment. Curator Endelle Stroth, under fire for the already floundering ARK Mandate and her comments against the Family Oramande, had this to say:
“We obviously apologise for any disturbance caused by our Centurions, but can assure citizens that they come in peace and only want to learn about the galaxy.”
Previous reporting on the Centurion probes implied that they were spacefaring vessels rather than humanoid entities. When pressed on whether the University knew about the drones’ secondary or mutable form, Curator Stroth commented that “as a 100-year-old initiative, there is still much we are relearning about the inner workings of Project Centennial.”
Speaking from Quen, the capital world of the Queil Empire, diplomatic envoy Prince Aster responded: “the fact that the Conglomerate knows - or wishes to divulge - so little about its own so-called Centurions represents a severe security risk across Queil and Ele territories. What else could they be capable of?”
The Ele have yet to comment on any encounters they may have had with the Centurions.
