041. A Manifesto For The Liberation Of Wonder

To all honourable citizens of the Coreworlds:

We, the Galactic Liberation of Wonder, seek to prevent the Coreworlds Conglomerate from monopolising our wondrous galaxy itself.

The Coreworlds have stepped blindly into an unprecedented era of colonial expansion, in which those with means can cross lightyears in a heartbeat, beholding incredible sights, exploring new environments and meeting with neighbouring civilisations as easily as walking to the corner shop. This being the case, we ask our governments: Why should the marvels of the galaxy be a privilege, and not a right?

Should not every citizen have the chance to witness the truly unique? To thrill at the discovery of a new landmark? To gain perspective from alien cultures? To feel awe in the shadow of a black hole or the dazzling light of a supernova? Instead, companies such as Intrepid would charge admission to landscapes they could not possibly tame, and agencies such as ARK hoard the vestiges of lost worlds, depriving them of the respect they are due.

We will not stand for this.

We say the galaxy should remain in its proper place, not gathering dust in some museum on Aglostarros, or in the auction houses of Ortekk. We say one cannot own the stars, and we defy the Coreworlds Empire to even try, for we know the people themselves will resist. We will do all in our power to return what was stolen, and we will let no-one stand in our way.

We demand the liberation of wonder.
