The former monarchy of the coreworld Oramande, originally named Irin, and a founding government of the Coreworlds Conglomerate. The Family Oramande is perhaps best known for its decision to abdicate all but its ceremonial duties when the planet joined the interstellar community, serving as signatories to the Conglomerate’s Charter and forming a democratically elected planetary government within a two week period known as the Grave Ascension.
Though the Oramandes, at the time led by His Highness King Naith Oramande II, received praise for heeding the will of their people in choosing to surrender power bloodlessly, it is undoubtable that the famed family has continued to exert substantial influence on the politics of the Coreworlds Conglomerate.
To date, the Family Oramande maintains a number of corporate interests throughout the Coreworlds and now the Exploration Zone, including a controlling share in the prestigious Montreau Conservatory. Baroness Dorn Oramande, current matriarch of the family, is highly regarded for her patronage of the arts and can often be seen attending galas and other society events on Aglostarros.
However, despite now only occupying a civilian role within the Coreworlds, the Family Oramande is not beyond controversy. The people of Oramande have begun a campaign to restore the planet’s indigenous name of Irin, to shake of the shadow of the family’s influence. This comes following allegations that the Oramandes may have influenced the passing of numerous unpopular laws within the Coreworlds, and had a more direct hand in the questionable work of the Montreau Conservatory’s agents.
