TYRISS - Tragedy has struck again on the frontiers of Conglomerate space, with ‘Sanctuarie’ on Tyriss the latest holiday resort to be devastated by local wildlife. Reports from the complex are still coming in, but security footage appears to show an abnormally large pack of aradogs forcing its way through the magnetised particle perimeter, spreading carnage and terror among the guests.
Asked how the barriers could have failed, engineers from tour operator Intrepid hypothesised that “the magnetised particle fields are simply not designed to withstand upwards of a hundred creatures applying pressure simultaneously. It’s completely unheard of! The generators just gave out entirely.” It is not currently known whether any of Sanctuarie’s staff or guests survived the attack.
The Sanctuarie incident is the latest in a worrying trend of deadly resort world attacks. Almost all reports implicate local fauna acting unexpectedly, but some theories suggest that these raids are being driven by nearby communities of sentients. To date, there has been no issuance of demands to suggest an intelligent agenda.
Intrepid has worked hard to suppress any evidence of the attacks, but the company’s latest financial records indicate that it has started investing heavily in private security forces. Under fire from the Conglomerate’s somewhat beleaguered regulators, Intrepid has doubled down on its lack of liability.
“Intrepid bears no responsibility for the fact that frontier space is dangerous,” their spokesperson said. “Our guests know the risks, and they accept those risks when they purchase a ticket.”
